Dried flowers are a beautiful, sustainable, and low-maintenance alternative to fresh blooms. With their long-lasting nature and timeless appeal, they’ve become a popular choice for weddings, home decor, and gifting.
To ensure your dried flowers stay looking their best, follow our easy care tips.
1. Keep away from water
Our first tip on how to care for your dried flowers is to keep away from water.
This means you should avoid any water and moisture which can cause dried flowers to wilt, loose their shape or even develop mould if levels are high. Generally this means it’s best to keep your dried flowers out of rooms such as wetrooms or bathrooms which have lots of moisture in the air.
Pro Tip: If you notice a bit of moisture in your space, use a dehumidifier to protect your arrangement.
2. Avoid Direct Sunlight
Dried flowers come in all colours and are well-known for bringing a long-lasting burst of colour to any space, such as our brand new Matilda dried flower arrangements in a beautiful array of pinks and purples.
To help protect their gorgeous colours, it’s a good idea to keep them away from direct sunlight. Direct sunlight can cause the colours to fade when exposed to direct sunlight for prolonged periods. For that reason it’s best to keep them in shaded or indirect light to maintain their vibrant colours.
3. Dust them Regularly
Over time, in any environment, dust can settle on your dried flower arrangements. To combat this, it’s best to gently dust them from time to time. You can use a soft makeup brush, feather duster, or a gentle blast of cool air from a hairdryer to remove any dust.
4. Avoid direct Heat Sources
It’s best to avoid direct heat source such as radiators or open fireplaces, which can make your dried flowers brittle, and can cause preserved flowers such as preserved eucalyptus to seep moisture. For this reason, it’s best to keep your dried flowers in a cool, dry room.
